Brierley Hill& Dudley Under 13's opened their West Midlands Fixtures with a narrow 1-0 victory over Stafford & District. The only goal of the game came from Joe STEVENTON after only 10 minutes and only a wonder save from 'keepr Scott PASKIN ensured the points for the home side.
UNDER 14's - (14TH OCTOBER)
HALESOWEN & STOURBRIDGE 1 BRIERLEY HILL & DUDLEY 4
Brierley Hill & Dudley Under 14's recorded a good win over near neighbours Halesowen & Stourbridge in what was their first game of the season. Two spectacular goals from front men Sam ELWELL and Shane BENNETT ensured a 2-0 lead at half- time. Both players scored again in the 2nd half and Halesowen scored a later consolation goal. - Man of the Match - Shane BENNETT
UNDER 14's - (21ST OCTOBER)
CANNOCK & DISTRICT 1 BRIERLEY HILL & DUDLEY 3
Brierley and Dudley U14's made a winning to start to their league campaign this morning with a 3-1 victory against Cannock. BH & D dominated early proceedings but conceded a break away goal from Cannock after 15 minutes. 2 minutes later Shane BENNETT smashed home the equaliser with a powerful left footed drive into the roof of the net. Captain Scott MEARS scored shortly after this with a close range header from a Will Worthington free kick to ensure a 2-1 lead at half time.
The 2nd half was very competitive but BH & D held their nerve and Scott MEARSnotched his 2nd goal with a cool finish in a one on one with the Cannock keeper. The game finished 3-1 with all BH & D players peforming outstandingly. Matt SMITH in central midfield was man of the match.
UNDER 15's - (21ST OCTOBER)
Brierley Hill & Dudley 1 Cannock & District 0
Brierley Hill had to wait until the final minute of the game before Ian WATKIN's scored to give the home side a narrow 1-0 victory.
UNDER 15's - (01 NOVEMBER)
Brierley Hill & Dudley 1 Hereford & District 4 - Friendly
Brierley Hill's warm-up match before their English Schools' Trophy game on Saturday became a nightmare when they lost 4-1 to Hereford & District and could only rue the many lost chances they failed to put away. Hereford led 2-0 before Richard Hill scored just before the break but the 2nd half saw no improvement from the home side and Hereford scored another 2 goals to run out comfortable winners.
