ESFA U12 Divisional Cup Round 1

Brierley Hill & Dudley 7-1 Redditch

BH & D U12s qualified for Round 2 of the ESFA U12 Divisional Cup with a convincing 7-1 win over Redditch.

The home side started slowly though, and were forced to defend for the first 10 minutes, with Redditch having the better of the opening exchanges. However, after 15 minutes Niall Clarke opened the scoring with a clever finish after being put through by Lewis Ralston. Daniel Durman then added a second goal from long range after the Redditch goalkeeper failed to clear the ball. Continued pressure from BH & D forced several corners and Josh Clift made the score 3-0 at half time with a back post finish after a short corner.

The second half saw BH & D continue to dominate and a fourth goal was scored early on when Shaquille Edwards played in Luke Milliship who calmly finish left footed past the keeper. Debutant Sam Austin impressed throughout the second half and was rewarded with 2 goals, the first an excellent curling left footed shot into the top corner and the second a cool right footed effort past the oncoming keeper. Luke Milliship rounded off the scoring to make it 7-1, finishing a 1v1 in style, and was unlucky not to score a hat-trick late on when he was denied by the keeper.
