U12 Travel Trophy : Bishop Challenor 1 v Great Barr 2
Great Barr U12 Travel Trophy Champions
This was a very tough game against a strong Bishop Challonor side in which Great Barr School came back from a goal down down to win 2-1. Great Barr went 1-0 down half way through the first half after a superbly floated free kick went into the far corner of the goal. Great Barr hit straight back. A low cross from Tom Wallis enabled Keaton McGuirk to strike the ball low past the goalkeeper. A tense second half saw Terrell Delain-Esson score what proved to be the winning goal 10 minutes before the end. Bishop Challonor pushed for an equaliser but Great Barr were able to hold on to take the cup for the first time
U13 George Welford Federation Trophy : Arden 0 v C.T.C 2
C.T.C.U13 Federation Cup Champions
This game proved a great advertisement for schools football. Arden dominated for much of the first half, both in terms of possession and creation of goal scoring opportunities, and should have been clearly in front at the break. However CTC slightly edged the second half and scored two breakaway goals from Jordan Andrews. The second was an outstanding finish with the outside of the right foot following an excellent through ball from Bobby Moseley. Arden still managed to create numerous goal scoring opportunities in the second half and certainly would have netted if not for an excellent display from the CTC goalkeeper, Connor Hickey. Arden were very unlucky and the score did not reflect the balance of the game. Both teams were a credit to their schools, producing a very exciting and nail biting game for the neutral.
