Shakil Strike Sinks Solihull

Kieran Caulfield

Erdington U13's moved into the next round of the Divisional Trophy following a 3 - 2 victory against Solihull Schools. In a keenly contested game Erdington went 1 - 0 down but equalised through Connor Doyle (Hodge Hill). Erdington went ahead again through Connor Doyle after good work by Kieran Caulfield (St Edmund Campion) only for Solihull to equalise. Shakil McDonald (John Willmott) then took a well taken goal with ten minutes to go which in turn proved the winner. Erdington now face local rivals Kings Norton & South Birmingham in the next round on Saturday 1st December.

Ryan Mann

Erdington Under 12's were brought down to earth after their recent goal glut against Cannock. Against a well organised and competitive Wolverhampton side, Erdington never really got going or showed their real potential. Despite taking the lead through Tyler Ward (St Edmund Campion) just before half time, Wolverhampton scored twice in the second half, largely through hesitancy in the defence, to deservedly win the game 2 - 1. Special mention should be made of Ryan Mann (Bishop Walsh) who once again had an outstanding game in goal.

Malachi Farquarson

Erdington U15's put in another strong  team performance against Kings Norton & South Birmingham winning 3 - 1. Erdington went into a deserved 1 - 0 in the first half through Malachi Farquarson who went on to score two more goals in the second half for his hat trick. Erdington defence was rarely troubled with dominant displays by Jack Hulin and Sean Ellis. The return of Aaron Forde stengthened an already stong mid field of Tuffour Kireku, Joe Pike and James Smith which allowed Malachi Farquarson to move up front. What was very noticeable in the performance was the number of chances created by Erdington throughout the game.
