Daylight Robbery Ends Season for Erdington
Leavon Yeats U15 Trophy Final
Erdington & Saltley U15 Divisional Finalists
Erdington and Saltley U15s finished the season on a high despite losing to Coventry Schools in the final of the Leavon Yates English Schools Cup. Erdington should have taken the lead after five minutes when Aaaron Forde was pulled down in the box. The normally reliable Malachi Farquarson scuffed the subsequent penalty and saw his shot hit the post and bounce agonisingly along the line before the ball was cleared by the Coventry defence. Coventry surprisingly took the lead with their first attack of the game much against the run of play. Erdington continued to dominate and hit the post twice and bar once before half time. In the second half, Erdington continued to create chances which, on most days, would have been turned into goals. Coventry were forced to play five men in defence as Erdington pressed forward in search of the equaliser but it was not to be. In the dying minutes of the game Coventry scored two quick breakaway goals to seal their victory. The game overall was very much one of "What might have been" but the team deserves credit for their commendable performance, especially Jack Hulin, who returned in the heart of the Erdington team following his broken leg. Well done to all,an outstanding final!

Arthur Terry pushed players forward and their constant pressure resulted in a deserved equaliser through Steve Pardoe
In extra time Arthur Terry’s goal keeper brought down a player in the box and Matt Watkins scored the subsequent penalty. With four minutes to go Joshua Oriunu sealed the win for Fairfax. Special mention should be made of Matt Grigg who had an outstanding game for Fairfax
