A good performance from the squad of players produced a comfortable and convincing 4-1 win against Warwickshire in this friendly game.

Despite the general dominance throughout by the West Mids players it was Warwickshire that threatened first and goalkeeper Tom Bryce had to make a very good save at the feet of Warwickshire forwards as they attempted to score from close range.

The breakthrough came after 15 minutes when Aaden Snaith tackled well to stop another Warwickshire attack. He immediately got the ball out of his feet and sent a tremendous ball over the top of the opposition defence for the impressive James Spray to run onto, he went round the keeper to score confidently.

Five minutes later Warwickshire drew level. A ball that managed to elude Cameron Burns and Will Worthington found Nic Whittam who struck an angled drive past Bryce.

West Midlands continued to get more on top in the game and it was no surprise that a second goal was scored. James Spray collected the ball in a deep position and ran at the Warwickshire defence, he went past two defenders before getting near the bye line and crossing for Declan Attenbarrow to score from close range.

The second half commmenced with West Mids leading 2-1 but Aaden Snaith was called upon to head offhis own goalline to prevent Warwickshire levelling, and James Wren needed to be sharp in goal.

Six minutes into the second half another great corner from Will Worthington was met superbly at the far post by Malachi Farquharson. Captain for the game, Mal found himself unmarked and he made no mistake with a powerful header.

West Midlands had to wait another 25 minutes before a well weighted and well timed pass from James Smith sent Declan Attenbarrow away perfectly to score with an angled shot over the advancing goalkeeper to complete the scoring.
